Annalong Women’s Institute – Summer 2019
Although no members meetings are held over the summer months the ladies of Annalong WI have been enjoying taking part in various activities. A great day out was had by all when a bus laden with members and friends set off for morning coffee in the charming surrounds of Ballydougan Pottery. This was followed by an entertaining and informative demonstration in the pottery workshop detailing the history of the establishment and how pottery has played such a part of everyday lives over the centuries. The afternoon gave everyone a chance to shop or relax with a visit to Rushmere shopping centre before making our way back to Newry and Canal Court Hotel for a mouth watering evening meal before returning home. Several ladies have enjoyed participating in local agricultural shows by entering their craft handiwork with some successful prize winners.
Our new season commences on Thursday the 5th September with our AGM being held. The invitation is always open for new members – just turn up to the meeting at 7.30 in Annalong Community hall where you will receive a warm welcome.
