Prior to the summer recess members have enjoyed the following meetings:

May – President Audrey welcomed members, guests from neighbouring Institutes and Executive Member, Elizabeth to Hospitality Evening in May.

The speaker was Ian Alexander, famously known as “The Grumpy Old Man”  He discussed his time as Editor and Managing Director of the Chronicle and Spectator Newspapers. A beautiful supper followed.

Audrey congratulated members who were successful in Competitions at the Spring Area Meeting – Barbara M 1st Scrapbook Page, Audrey H 1st Painting, and Yvonne McI, Highly Commended Photograph.

June – members and friends boarded a coach for the annual outing.  The first stop was F E McWilliams Gallery in Banbridge where the ladies enjoyed coffee and scones and viewed the contemporary sculptures.  The second stop was the Bann Valley Heritage Centre and finally on to Ballydougan Pottery in Gilford where everyone had a beautiful lunch.  The owner conducted a pottery demonstration and discussed the historic Bloomvale House.  A great day out.
