Festival of the Spoken Word 2022
On Saturday 29th October 2022, the Arts Sub-Committee hosted another great Speech Festival – after a hiatus of three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This time around, the venue was Templepatrick Presbyterian Church Hall, and it was a great success – and a great day of entertainment, with 53 ladies taking to the stage and 6 Federation trophies up for grabs! The adjudicator was Shorna Ni Nia Meggitt, BSc Hons, Adv. Dip, MSc, LLAM, from the Ballycastle School of Speech and Drama, who praised the very high standard of the performances. The ladies from Templepatrick WI provided the morning refreshments and Federation Chairman Margaret Broome presented the awards in the afternoon.
