President Lynne Weir welcomed everyone to our April meeting especially our Demonstrator for the evening Clare McAuley who is studying floristry at Greenmount and works in Floral Creations in Comber. Clare demonstrated a modern arrangement using pink and yellow flowers to complement exotic foliage. She then made a tied bouquet using multicoloured blooms and foliage and finished her talk by showing us a pillow type arrangement trimmed with ribbon and net. We wish Clare good luck and best wishes as she competes at The Chelsea Flower Show. Competition winners were Margaret Brundle and Pam Wells. Ballot Winners were Shirley Shanks and Elsie Strain. Birthday girls for April were Andrea Barkley, Margaret Brundle,Maureen McConnell and Margaret McDowell.
