President Lynne Weir welcomed everyone to the February meeting.However we opened on a very sad note as we held a minutes silence for Meta McKeag who had passed away since our last meeting. Meta was a very regular attendee at our meetings until ill health prevented her from doing so.She was lovely sincere and quiet lady with a beautiful smile and a very kind and friendly disposition we will miss her among us . Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Milton, daughters Alison and Sonia and the entire family circle.
Our evening progressed to all things pancakes with members Andrea and Jennifer cooking us pancakes for our supper. We added all types of fillings and toppings with good old butter,lemon and sugar being the favourite. A quiz about pancakes followed which was won by Helen Warden. Competition winners were Margaret Brundel and Pamela Shanks. Ballot winners were Margaret McDowell and Lily Lusty. February’s birthday girls were Mae Kelly, Ruth Magowan and Lynne Weir.
The evening ended with Lynne wishing our quiz team of Lily Lusty, Eileen Rooney and Margaret Gibson and our bowler Jackie Bennett lots of luck in the Quiz and Bowls final on Monday 27th February 2017.
