Killinchy Women’s Institute – March 2018 news
Speakers for the evening were women from N.I. Fisheries, known as “The Fish Wives”, Lou, Marlene, Elaine, Betty and Sheila who individually told us their life stories of how their husbands became fishermen. This was both interesting and Entertaining!
After sampling the fish they cooked, members were given fish recipes and bought fresh fish from the ladies.
Thanks were given by Jennifer and Lynne presented the 5 ladies with a flowering plant, this was much appreciated.
An invitation was received from Donaghadee W.I. for Monday 4th June for 4 members, this was read to members.
Congratulations were given to Jennifer, Jenny and Hilary on winning Area Quiz
Who will go on to the final at Hillsborough on Wednesday 9th May.
After a very nice supper supplied and served by committee, the competition winners for “Something Fishy” were, Margaret Brundle and Helen Warden.
Winners of visitors ballots were 2 members from Saintfield, winners from Killinchy were Mavis and Shirley.
Birthday girls for March, Pamela Shanks, Mavis Russell, Eileen Reid, Jackie Bennett.
