Mary Boyd Competition 2020

Posted March 31, 2020 by WI Staff in Event Reports

The International Sub-Committee once again ran its annual Mary Boyd Competition and this year entrants were tasked with creating a child’s pencil case in any medium.  As you can see, there were lots of colourful entries and a variety of designs.  The Mary Boyd entries are traditionally auctioned at the ACWW Conferences each year, however, due to Covid-19 the Conference planned for Glasgow in October 2020 has now been postponed until May 2021, so these entries will now be sent to ACWW projects in Africa and India.

Congratulations to the overall winner – Alison Pickering of Waringstown WI, who will be presented with the prestigious Mary Boyd Trophy.

Well done also to the runner-up in second place – Pamela Robinson of Carrickfergus WI.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter the Competition!
