Now that restrictions have eased, our WI groups have been taking every opportunity to get together again for social outings, walks and Institute meetings…
Ballyblack WI
Here are some snapshots of our Ballyblack ladies, who recently got together at Harrisons of Greyabbey – their first proper gathering as an Institute since the initial lockdown! The safety screens set up in Harrisons meant the ladies felt reassured, and everyone enjoyed their afternoon tea and the opportunity to catch up with friends.

Ballymoney WI
Here are our Ballymoney ladies on another adventure! The group walked in Portrush recently, in aid of ACWW’s ‘Women Walk The World’ campaign, stopping along the way for a well earned coffee break.
The Ballymoney ladies also got together recently in the beautiful alpine garden of fellow member Dorothy Brown. Dorothy is also a member of the Royal Horticultural / Alpine Society and her garden is pretty much famous in the area, having featured on TV and radio!

Ballywalter WI
The Ballywalter members all met at Island Hill, outside Newtownards recently for a walk, before travellimg on to The Crafty Fox in Killinchy for coffee.
Congratulations were in store for these two Ballywater ladies – Helen Robinson (left) and Liz Patterson (right) who both received Homecraft ribbons at this outdoor get-together!

Leckpatrick WI
The Leckpatrick ladies met at Oakfield Park, Donegal for a sponsored walk in aid of ACWW’s ‘Women Walk the World’ campaign.  After an al fresco lunch at Buffers Restaurant, members strolled around the beautiful landscaped grounds and architectural features of Oakfield Park.  Everyone then enjoyed a train ride around the demesne and ice-cream refreshments in bright sunshine. It was a wonderful day out and an opportunity to support a very worthy cause, as well as catching up on news over the summer.

Mossley WI
Selfie time for the Mossley Walking Group!  The ladies enjoyed a walk along the Newtownabbey Way between Mossley and Monkstown. Members are looking forward to meeting in September, their first proper meeting as an Institute since March 2020!

The Newtownstewart ladies met recently to enjoy a cuppa and a chat by the river!

Members of the St. John’s Institute were very happy to meet up – for the first time since March 2020! The ladies got together to share a lovely afternoon tea. Tracey Galway told us, “We have agreed to recommence meetings with our AGM in September, adhering to Covid protocol, and hope to enjoy a full programme this incoming year”.
