Women Walking Worldwide!

ACWW sponsored walks take place worldwide each year and WI members are always very supportive of this worthy cause.  ACWW offers support, friendship and practical help to improve the lives of women and their families, empowering communities around the world.

Clogher Valley Area

Members from WIs in the Clogher Valley Area enjoyed a lovely walk in Knockmany Forest, Augher, raising £250 for ACWW.  Afterwards, the ladies rewarded themselves with a light lunch in the Courthouse Cafe, Clogher.

Newtownbreda WI

Instead of a sponsored walk, the Newtownbreda ladies held a special coffee morning at Rockmount Golf Club in aid of ACWW funds.  Tea/coffee and an assortment of freshly made scones, topped with jam and cream, was the order of the day – irresistible!  Former Rowallane Area Executive Member Agnes Black from Boardmills WI, who previously served as International Sub-Committee Chairman, had kindly come along to give a presentation on the work of ACWW.  Agnes also left a few ‘Rural Woman in Action’ folders to pass around the members.  It was a lovely morning and, with donations, the Newtownbreda ladies raised £264 – well done!
