President Annabel Cleland welcomed everyone to the meeting. Our Speaker for the evening was Kerri Smith from the Good Little Company based in Finnebrogue. Kerri delighted us with a talk about the Good Little Company, explaining the ethos ‘Good for You’ ‘Good for Others’ and ‘Good for the Planet’. All products are Gluten Free and contain a high percentage of pork; the company support charitable causes in Africa – Ripple Africa in Malawi which promotes sustainable fishing and Mulange Mission Hospital in Malawi providing a nutritious meal a day for orphans, school uniforms and spraying villages to very successfully eliminate mosquitos which cause malaria; they replace a tree for every one chopped down to provide packaging and ensure that the ink used will not damage fish should it end up in a river. We sampled some of the delicious sausages and were given a hessian bag, pack of sausages and a pen to take home. These products can be purchased in Tesco, Sainsbury and Supervalue as well as some local outlets. Susan McDowell gave a well-deserved vote of thanks and a donation towards their charities. The competition for the best dressed sausage was won by Helen Rea with Anne Bleue 2nd and Helen Newell 3rd. There were some wonderful creations! The Ballot was won by Vivienne Dumigan and the Birthday Gift by Susan McDowell. Congratulations were given to Nan Carson on her recent 90th Birthday.
