In September delegates from the Women’s Institute travelled to the 27th Triennial Conference of the ACWW in Chennai, India. ACWW has member societies in seventy different countries and there were representatives at the Conference from thirty of these. Delegates were present from Australia to Norway, from Canada to Zimbabwe, from Sri Lanka to Belarus and many more places.  There were many Resolutions discussed at the Conference and the delegates were able to see the very worthwhile projects which the host society (DMI) sponsor amongst the women and young girls in the outlying village areas of the bustling city of Chennai.  The Conference also provided a great opportunity to network amongst long established and new friends whose common interest is to try to improve the lives of so many underprivileged families in the modern world.  The WI delgates are proud to support ACWW projects which provide financial and humanitarian help for those in need around the world and the ladies also enjoyed soaking up the culture of India on their travels.
