This year’s Balmoral Show was a great success at the new venue, Balmoral Park.  The WI ladies worked so hard to make it an excellent three days.   Chairman, Margaret Collinson said “This year we have been delighted with our new venue at Balmoral Park – a light, bright marquee to show off all the talents of WI Members – craft, cookery and floral art.  The Arts Committee had a display of pictures painted by members and many of them were sold.  The International Committee displayed the projects that WI supports through the Associated Countrywomen of the World.  Last but by no means least the tea rooms did a colossal trade in their excellent, good value teas.”

Kathleen Edwards,  Chairman of the Balmoral Committee said of the event:  “This was the first Balmoral Sub-Committee to serve teas in Balmoral Park, our new venue.  On arrival we were delighted with the size of the marquee, with it’s blue carpet to match our chairs.  The marquee was situated in pleasant surroundings with one side overlooking an ornamental garden.  Once our tables were set up with their blue and yellow cloths and pretty posies, it was very impressive.  There was much hard but satisfying work during the show week and the crowds were overwhelming.  The total money raised was beyond our wildest dreams.  By the end of the week members of the Committee and volunteers were exhausted but happy and relieved that everything had been so successful.  Our thanks to Margaret Collinson, who kept a watchful eye on proceedings and to Anne and Irene, our financial wizards.  We are indebted to David Brown of RUAS, Raymond Phillips of White Mountain Spring Water and to Dale Farm.  To everyone who contributed in any way, my sincere thanks.”

I am Secretary of the Co Londonderry Agricultural Show and I believe that the WI used Terston Geddie labels for the home industries judging at Balmoral Show this year. Please could you contact me as I an trying to obtain labels for our show but my usual suppler has gone out of business and I wonder where you were able to source your labels.
