Home and Garden Sub-Committee – Christmas Competition 2020

Posted June 24, 2021 by WI Staff in Event Reports

Unfortunately, the annual Home and Garden Christmas Event could not go ahead in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic and the tightening of Government guidelines. However, that did not stop the Home and Garden ladies from organising their annual Christmas Competition.  In keeping with what was going on in the Covid crazy world, entrants were tasked with making an original festive face mask!  The entries were sent by post to WI Headquarters due to lockdown restrictions – but where there is a will, there is a way – and lots of colourful creations were received!  Federation Vice-Chairman Edwina Marr judged the Competition and the overall winner was Rosemary Reid of Drumbeg WI.  Rosemary was later awarded the Romanian Platter.

Feeling festive – all the lovely entries.

Rosemary Reid was later presented with the Romanian Platter by Drumbeg President/Lagan Area Executive Member Sheelagh McRandal, at a socially distanced outdoor gathering held by Drumbeg WI.
