🌳Plant a Tree for our Future – Hillsborough WI

The Hillsborough WI ladies had had the honour of being asked by the Royal Palaces to plant 50 native trees as part of the Queen’s green canopy – and were finally able to do this on Friday 18th March! Hillsborough President Salfran Sinnerton and Secretary Anne Fitzsimons, along with Claire from the Royal Palaces, planted the first tree together. In total they planted ten each of crab apple, silver birch, rowan hazel and wild cherry.

Fellow member Gail Creighton commented, “It was a beautiful day and we hope that the trees will grow and flourish and will represent the Hillborough WI for many years!”
