There was a good attendance at our January meeting.
New member welcomed Yvonne D and we have had several new members join over the past months.
Speaker: Mrs Carol Walker MBE, Director of the Somme Association who gave a fascinating illustrated talk about women and the vote.
Competition: World War One Memento – was won by Elizabeth W
Also in January the outgoing and new committee were delighted to be welcomed to Bangor Castle for a reception hosted by the Mayor of Ards. The reception was in recognition of the Institute winning the Macausland Rose Bowl for Institute of the Year across Northern Ireland.
Next meeting Tuesday 12 February is entitled “Harmony Heals the Heart”
Competition: “A Heart” so members are encouraged to put there thinking caps on for their interpretation of this competition.
