Mosside WI’s Diamond Jubilee year ends with success at Ballymoney Show

As Mosside WI’s Diamond Jubilee year draws to a close the ladies celebrate success at Ballymoney Show and are proud to end their important milestone on such a high note. The ladies who competed gained a total of 26 first places, 18 second places and 10 third places. Kathleen McConaghie received two special prizes for her rich fruit cake and sultana cake. Doreen Patton received a special prize for gaining most points in the Preserves Section and for her cross stitch. Eileen White won the Haughey Challenge Cup and the United Dairy Farmers Prize for Calligraphy Exhibit.

Due to the hard work and success of the ladies who entered exhibits in the many competitions, Mosside WI won a number of awards as follows:
* The NAAA Ltd Cup presented to the Wi gaining most points overall in the Craftwork Section
* The Florence Gillan Memorial Rose Bowl presented to the WI with most points overall in Craftwork, Baking, and Floral Art
* Armoy Women’s Institute Perpetual Challenge Trophy presented to the WI gaining most points overall in Baking, Confectionery and Preserves.
* £50 prize presented by McAfee Properties to the WI gaining most points overall in the Craftwork Section
* £50 prize presented by McAfee Properties to the WI gaining most points overall in Baking, Confectionery and Preserves
The ladies of Mosside WI will be taking a well deserved summer break!
