WI Members Celebrate Christmas!

It’s great that our groups are able to get together again, especially for the festive season…

Annalong WI

The Annalong ladies were invited to decorate a Christmas tree to be displayed in Annalong village as part of a community event – and here it is, complete with our WI logo! The Christmas lights will be turned on in Annalong on Thursday, 9th December!

Ballintoy WI

Ballygrainey WI

Christmas came early to Ballygrainey WI! The ladies enjoyed an afternoon of festive craft, led by fellow member Diane Leitch, at their November meeting. The result of this fun afternoon of creativity was an array of beautiful decorated lighted bottles, all made with Christmas in mind!

Ballymoney WI

In December, the Ballymoney ladies got together for their Institute’s Christmas dinner in the Brown Trout Golf and Country Inn, Aghadowey. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal in warm, cosy surroundings – as well as the chance to get glammed up for a night out!

The Culmore members got together on 8th December for their Institute’s Christmas dinner.

The ladies from Killyman got into the Christmas spirit recently, with a festive lunch and tour at Killymoon Castle! Secretary Ruth Carroll told us, “It was lovely to see everyone again and the lunch was delicious!

Larne WI

Here are the lovely ladies from Larne, who finished off the year with a fun filled festive meeting! The group enjoyed a creative evening of craft, making beautiful Christmas baubles, all from 1 inch scraps of fabric. A delicious supper followed, with traditional mince pies and shortbread. At the end of the night, everyone exchanged secret Santa gifts.

Rathfriland WI

Here are the Rathfirland ladies at their December meeting – complete with festive headgear and Christmas jumpers! They enjoyed a Games Night, with Dingbats, Scattergories and a round of True/False to get everyone thinking! In their Christmas Quiz, Margot Groves came 1st, Sheila Mark 2nd and Mae Ingram 3rd. Two new members were warmly welcomed to the group.

The Rathfriland WI Book Club, now split into two due to its popularity, has been meeting monthly, while the Dining Group enjoyed lunch out in October and November.
