Autumn Council Meeting 2018
The Autumn Council Meeting (ACM) was held in the Bannville House Hotel, Banbridge on Saturday 20th October 2018, following the World Rural Women’s Day meeting. The ACM gives members a chance to catch up on the latest Federation news, and comprehensive reports were delivered by Federation Chairman Collette Craig and Federation Treasurer Pamela Brown. Informative written reports were also provided by all six of the Sub-Committee Chairmen.
The guest speaker was John Wilkinson, retired headmaster of Dromore High School, who brought a light-hearted dimension to the meeting with his entertaining presentation. Federation awards were presented to members for recent achievements and the meeting closed traditionally with the singing of A Countrywoman’s Song.

-Northern Bank Trophy – City of Belfast Autumn Flower Show Homeskills & Handcrafts: Ballyblack/Donaghadee WI Team
-Home and Garden Perpetual Trophy – Best in Show Floral Art at Balmoral Show: Dorothy Arnold, Richhill WI
-Home and Garden Shield – Institute gaining most points in Floral Art at Balmoral Show: Crossgar WI
-Evelyn Lord Trophy – International Work: Norma Heap, Derrygonnelly WI
-Kathleen Maconaghie Rosebowl – Photographic Competition 2018 Winner: Iris Clyde, Garvagh WI
-Dorman Trophy – Best original article written by a WI member published in the Ulster Countrywoman: Christine Gordon, Ballyblack WI.
