Women Walking Worldwide In Aid Of ACWW!

The ACWW sponsored walks usually take place worldwide in April each year, however, due to the Covid-19 pandemic walks had to be postponed, but have since been taking place in various months throughout 2021.  As Covid regulations relaxed, more of our groups have been able to meet up outdoors for walks, enjoying the fresh air, nature, scenery and camaraderie, all while raising money for a very worthy cause.  ACWW offers support, friendship and practical help to improve the lives of women and their families, empowering communities around the world.

Ballymoney WI

Here are our Ballymoney ladies on another adventure! The group walked in Portrush recently, in aid of ACWW’s ‘Women Walk the World’ campaign, stopping along the way for a well earned coffee break.

Gracehill & Galgorm WI

The Gracehill & Galgorm ladies got together in Broughshane for a sponsored stroll in aid of ACWW’s ‘Women Walk the World’ campaign. The group walked through the Wildfowl Park and along the river. There was plenty of craic, chat and catching up along the way, followed by some well-earned refreshments.  It was Rosemary Frayne’s 50th wedding anniversary on the day of the walk and President Lynda Brooks presented her with a special celebratory card and plant before the group set off.

The Leckpatrick ladies met at Oakfield Park, Donegal for a sponsored walk in aid of ACWW’s ‘Women Walk the World’ campaign. After an al fresco lunch at Buffers Restaurant, members strolled around the beautiful landscaped grounds and architectural features of Oakfield Park. Everyone then enjoyed a train ride around the demesne and ice-cream refreshments in bright sunshine. It was a wonderful day out and an opportunity to support a very worthy cause, as well as catching up on news from over the summer.
