Quiz Final 2019
All 21 Areas were represented at the Magazine and Leisure Quiz Final in Hillsborough Village Centre on the evening of Wednesday 8th May 2019. A good crowd arrived to enjoy what has become one of the popular events in the Magazine and Leisure Sub-Committee’s calendar.
For the second year in a row our quizmaster Brian Hunter got the first round started with some fairly thought-provoking questions on Connections, next was the TV round and quite quickly it was the halfway point and time for supper. The second half progressed well and the next five rounds went swiftly with a number of teams in close contention, the lead closely contested till the final round. Finally, Glarryford WI representing the Slemish Area were announced as the runners-up, with Myroe WI taking the trophy once again.
Federation Chairman Colette Craig presented the teams with their prizes and congratulated everyone who had taken part for making it such an enjoyable evening.
Magazine and Leisure Sub-Committee Chairman Dorothy Andrews thanked Colette and presented her with a pretty basket of flowers. Dorothy then thanked all those who had helped to make the evening a success – the quizmaster Brian, the staff of the Village Centre, the ladies who provided the supper, the spectators and all those who had done the hard work answering the questions.
So, for next year’s Quiz, start finding the answers to all those questions you couldn’t quite remember and that might be the winner for your team!
