The Rowallane posts for 2013/2014
Well ladies I hope you all ha great summer, the weather was kinder this year.
Now that September has come we are now in the throws of a new year and exciting things ahead. Please keep the news coming to me Linda Moneyreagh WI you can contact me through headquarters, some of you already know me personally.
Our first piece of news is that we had a great weekend in An Grianan. There were 29 ladies from Rowallane, we joined with Knockagh Area and the ladies from ICA. The ladies attended classes in beading, they made beautiful amulet purses, every time I passed them they were working like little busy bees. Some did digital photography the pictures were stunning. The ladies who attended the painting class learnt a lot, and were given good tips, with some going to continue on. The rest of us did nothing but relax and pause. Well all I can say it was lovely, just bliss being pampered, the treatments were beautiful, one was a lovely warm wax treatment that made our hands beautiful and soft so much better than having them in dish water.
The food and accommodation was 5*. We had such a good weekend but it was all those attended that made it, thank you all and especially Irene.
After the great weekend we have decided on another Area weekend on the 5th to 7th September 2014 may I take this opportunity to encourage as many as possible to attend next year. I will be getting information on courses the cost will be 185 euros the same as this year. So secretaries of the Area please spread the word to make it a great weekend.
Next item was the Autumn Show in Botanic held on the 14/15th September there where 9 entries I know Saintfield and Moneyreagh entered it was a good experience I personally learnt a lot if any other institute entered let me know. Saturday was a beautiful day only to be followed by a very stormy Sunday thanks to the ladies who looked after all the displays. Now Moneyreagh has started entering again after a break hope we will in the future.
