Broughshane WI

Monday November 10th

The President, Martha Wilson, introduced Dawn McKeown proprietor of the Raceview Project.  Dawn gave a personal and frank account via a PowerPoint presentation of the gigantic project both her father Roy and herself had taken on.  It seems evident that nothing will daunt this pair in keeping the ethos of the Raceview Project aligned to enhancing another area of an already beautiful village.  Dawn invited members to come along to the first two weekends in December to experience first-hand what has been achieved so far and to enjoy the “Christmas Winter Wonder” and newly opened coffee shop.   May Adams gave the vote of thanks.  The winner of the monthly competition – a teapot was won by Mary Robinson, placed second and third Diana McCaughey and Marie Harvey.  Congratulations were given to Sophia Maybin who came 2nd both in flake meal biscuits and 2nd for 4 tray bakes in the Federation Festival of Food and Flowers. The Magazine winner this month was also Sophia Maybin.  The Monday 12th January 2015 would be our first meeting of the New Year.  As always we will look forward to welcoming any new members who would like to join our WI.  The meeting ended with the Country Women’s Song.
