SEAFORDE WI PRESENT CHEQUE TO RURAL SUPPORT NI

Seaforde WI recently presented a cheque for £440 to Rebecca Anderson of Rural Support NI. This charity was established in 2002 at the height of the Foot and Mouth epidemic and recognised that farmers and their families needed support to deal with problems such as stress, mental health issues, succession, family fall outs, inheritance tax and much more. Rural Support helps by providing a helpline and face to face assistance from experienced volunteers who understand the challenges that farmers face. This money was raised at the annual table quiz in the Lakeside Inn and presented at the April Meeting.

Following this it was our ‘Taste & Try’ night. Members had brought along delicious homemade food and everyone got the chance to try out new main courses, desserts or cakes. Birthday girl was Elizabeth Fleming and the ballot was won by Vivienne Dumigan. The Seaforde WI team of Margaret Broome, Cilla Green and Susan McDowell won the local heat of the W.I. Quiz and go forward to the final in Hillsborough Village Centre on Wednesday night, 8^th May, commencing at 7.15pm.
