January saw us gather in the Mc Cammon Memorial Hall for our annual dinner. Everyone was welcomed, especially Pearl Shaw whom we were delighted to have back with us for the evening. Members stood for a moments silence to remember the late Mrs Amelia Blakely and condolences were passed on to her daughters Susan, Annabel, Rosemary, Davina and Helen. George Hanna and Callum from the Mulberry Tree served us up a delicious meal, which everyone enjoyed. Arthur Gibson and Wilfie Keys then treated us to a sing-a-long with members not only singing but playing some percussion instruments. A very enjoyable evening concluded with the Countrywoman’s Song. Competition for prettiest paper napkin was won by Jenifer Robinson with Margaret Broome second and Cilla Green third; birthday gift went to Kathleen Heenan and the ballots to Doreen Radcliff and Lily Smith.
