Our speaker for the evening was Chloe Burgess from Glastry Farm who make ice cream. Chloe should us slides and gave us an informative talk on the history of the farm. Members were each given a tub of the various flavours of the ice cream which everyone enjoyed. Jennifer gave the vote of thanks.

The Christmas Outing date and venue was announced which will be on Thursday 7th December at The Secret Garden.

The minutes of 5th September were read

Members were reminded of World Rural Women’s Day and Autumn Council meeting on 21st October at Killyhevlin Hotel, also a Scrapbook 1 day school on Saturday 7th October at Headquarters.

Members were informed it was time for re-election of an Executive Member and members for Sub Committees.

Edwina Marr was put forward for re-election on behalf of Killinchy.

No names were put forward for subcommittee.

Committee decided we should have a Tombola at Novembers meeting, this was to replace the usual ballot and the charge would be £1.00 a strip, members were asked to contribute by bring any kind of bottle gift.

Members were informed that a box will still be in place for Women’s Aid items every month.

The competition for A Sundae Glass was won by Margaret Brundle, second prize went to Pamela Shanks.

Ballot winners, Elsie Strain, Maureen Marsh.

Elsie Strain and Jenny Clarke were the birthday girls for October.

In November members our to bring a gift for Beechvale Nursing Home and the competition will be “ the nicest wrapped gift”.

Helen Warden and Pamela Shanks to entertain members with demonstrations of Christmas Flower ideas.
