Seaforde Women’s Institute – November/December news
In November our meeting took the form of a bus outing to the Secret Garden at Dundonald Nurseries. On arrival we had time to browse the beautiful shopping area and buy some items – the shop had expanded and there was a superb range – from Christmas items to clothing. The Salvation Army then entertained us with sing-a-long Carols. We were then ready to go into the restaurant where we were served a delicious ‘Candlelit Supper’. We managed a little more shopping before boarding the bus for home.

December saw us entertaining ourselves at our Christmas party. President Jenny Heenan welcomed everyone and Helen Newell taught us how to make some Christmas baubles. We all were delighted with our efforts and went home with two lovely decorations each. Jenny thanked Helen for her hard work. Supper provided by our members was delicious and we all tucked in. Competition for guessing the committee member from a baby photo was won by Cilla Green who also won the ballot, with Jenifer Robinson and Pam McDonagh second and Vivienne Dumigan and Helen Rea third. 2nd and 3rd in the ballot were Hilda Fleming and Elizabeth Fleming and the birthday gift went to Helen Newell. Jenny wished everyone a Happy Christmas and New Year.
