Killinchy Women’s Institute – November 2017 news

Our President Lynne welcomed members and visitors to the meeting and reminded everyone of the fire procedure.

New Members: Belle Hanna, proposed by Elsie Strain, seconded by Maureen Marsh.

Gail Taggart, proposed by Pam Wells, seconded by Lily Lusty, where welcomed by our President Lynne.

Members enjoyed the creation of lovely Christmas flower arrangements demonstrated by two of our own members Helen & Pamela. The vote of thanks was given by Jennifer Foreman.

The competition for,” The nicest wrapped present” which will go to Beechvale Nursing Home, was won by Lynne Weir, second prize went to Pamela Shanks.

A Tombola was held instead of our usual ballot.

Margaret Ritchie, Shirley Shanks and Belle Hanna were the birthday girls for November.

It was announced that no meeting would be held on Tuesday 5th December, instead   the Christmas Dinner would take place on Thursday 7th at The Secret Garden, members to be there for 6.30pm.

Lynne informed members, there would be no meeting in January, as there is usually a very poor attendance.

The meeting was closed with the singing of the Country Women’s Song,
